Eyeshadow Quad: Tom Ford Body Heat

NOTE: ALL SWATCHES / APPLICATIONS ARE DRY.

If I am going to glam city I make sure I carry my bougie makeup. That way feel better about wearing it, than to my local grocery store, which is my usual practice.

So of-course a trip to Hong Kong called for a dose of Boo-Je.

Enter Mr Tom Ford and his eyeshadow quad!

Now if I am going to pay a hefty price for an item of makeup it has to be for something different. So I invested in TF’s wet and dry eyeshadow formula.

The two palettes that appealed to me were Honeymoon and Body Heat.TOMFORD.001

I chose Body Heat because it seemed to lean more cool, and I am a brown girl who loves cool tones because it matches my cold heart.

On the Sephora website Body Heat shades are described as ‘#1 light pink, #2 deep rose, #3 reddish taupe and #4 medium brown’.

On my eyelids both taupe and brown have a grey undertone and lend for a soft smokey eye.

Shade #2, the ‘deep rose’ is more rust-brown with a slight pink undertone. IMG_3052 2

Shade #1 I love. A light peachy-pink shimmer. It was this shade that made me buy the quad.

If it had the usual warm, golden, champagne shimmer it would be a  ‘no from me Dawg’.

All shades are finely milled satin finishes with shade #1 having a beautiful sparkle to it.

All shades wear well and have great colour payoff on my lids. So much so I haven’t felt the need to wear any of them wet.

They are smooth and easy to work with,  perfect for applying in a hotel room bathrooms and running out the door.

For example my ABH Soft Glam palette is finickity and I have to make sure I tap off the excess and have enough time to blend it well. With this TF I can be pretty slapdash and not look patchy.

Also because I don’t travel with my natural bristle brushes I have been using this quad with my synthetic Real Techniques and Morphe brushes, and it works well with these brushes too.

All in all I am impressed with this quad and dare I say easier to work with than the Pat McGrath and Viseart palettes I own.

Ack I don’t want to fall into the Tom Ford rabbit hole of desire, my wallet and I are not ready.
